INTERNET USE – GLOBAL

  • Google search per day: 2.9 billion.
  • Used global in December 2015: 3.26 billion.
  • WordPress is responsible for 76.5 million blogs.
  • There are more than 966 million websites worldwide.
  • 51% of users think that “contact us” data is incomplete or missing.

INTERNET USE – CANADA

  • 87% of Canadian households are connected to the Internet.
  • 81% are connected on a mobile.

INTERNET USE – QUÉBEC

  • $ 8 billion of Quebeckers’ total expenditures were on the Web in 2015.
  • 66% of Quebec adults bought online. Those who bought spent about $ 309 a month.
  • 73.7% of Quebecers are fully informed online.
  • Mobile devices were used by 28.5% of Quebec adults.
  • Quebeckers spend an average of 17.1 hours per week on the Internet. (9.9 h home, 5.8 h work and 1.4 h cell).
  • 25 to 34 year olds are the group that most often surf the Internet on their mobile. (2.7 hours a week).
  • 93% of Quebecers with annual incomes over $ 60,000 are online.
  • 49% of Quebec adults now consider online purchases by credit card as safe or very secure.
  • Online transactions grew from 15% in 2008 to 66% in 2016.

    E-COMMERCE

      • Trade generated by the web is in the order of $ 2.2 trillion ($ 2,200,000,000,000) in 2015
      • 80% of consumers will buy online if there are no shipping costs.
      • 50% of Canadians shopped online vs. 33% of Americans in 2012

        TIME SPENT ON THE WEB

        • Average time spent on the internet per adult per day – 5.6 hours
          • On desktop / laptop: 2.4 hours (42%)
          • Mobile device: 2.8 hours (51%)
          • Other (game console, smart TV): 0.4 hours (7%)

            THERE ARE MORE MOBILE USERS THAN ON DESKTOP COMPUTER SINCE 2013!
